Each butterfly house is cut, sanded, and painted by hand. They come with a roof that can open. This allows for you to clean out the house if needed, add more sticks, and check out the tenants. The sticks are not included to allow you to add native sticks from your area. Hopefully, this will help attract the butterflies in your area. The houses also come with a hook on the back to hang them up with. After doing some research, I found that butterflies were attracted to red, yellow, pink, orange, and purple. So, I offer the houses to be painted in yellow, pink, and purple. The grey and turquoise pictured here are options as well. The house and roof can be painted different colors. The house is finished off with a vinyl decal on the roof. There are three options for the decals that can also be customized if you would like. These are fun bright additions to any butterfly garden or flowerbed. Stop by my shop to order your custom made butterfly house today. Also these decals can be bought separately, to add to your own butterfly house, to make a butterfly garden sign, or just a butterfly themed home decor piece.

The no touching signs reminder is applied to an acrylic circle tag and a ribbon attaches it to the handle of the carrier. The tag is three inches, so big enough for people to notice it; but not too big where it hinders the carrying of the carrier. I have two designs, but this can be easily modified to what you would like to say. One design says "Please keep your germs away" and the other says "I am a preemie No touching extra cute and sensitive". Visit my shop to get a carrier sign for the little one before their first outing.
The main reason I started For You Expressions was to give people a place to go for custom vinyl for DIY projects. I've seen a lot of projects on Pinterest that use vinyl. For those that don't have a Circuit or other craft vinyl cutter the solution has been to go to the store and by vinyl. When that was my only option, I didn't bother. I don't have nice handwriting for making posters, so I remember all those projects in school where I used store bought sticker letters. Yes, the stickers looked good in the end- if you were successful enough at lining up EVERY letter. I always had a least one or two mess ups that cause me to have to carefully peel the letter up that resulted in tearing of the display board. Oh, the frustration and time! I got to the point where I just wanted a vinyl cutter to do all these craft projects on Pinterest. I wanted to etch words on wine glasses, make stencils for painting crafts, put designs on tumblers, and SO much more, but I refused to use store bought stickers. Time to get a vinyl cutter! My husband had the forward thinking idea to buy a commercial cutter instead of the home craft cutter. This was such a good idea! One- my projects could be bigger!!! Two- one day I could share my cutter. Here I am, sharing my cutter!!! Don't try to line up all those letters to create your quote on a canvas or wall! Don't try and line them all up on a cup or mug! Just check out my decals (some are shown below) or message me and I'll create a custom decal for you. These vinyl decals come all on one "sticker" to allow you to line up the decal where you want it and easily apply it. I think these decals are so much easier to use than the letter stickers you find in the stores. I'm not just saying "message me and I'll create a custom decal" to be nice, I really do mean it. I have had a few friends contact me with something they have seen and ask, "Can you make this?". My answer, "Yes!" The custom projects are my favorite because I am actually doing what I set out to do- help people create a decal for their DIY project. Also, it feels good to create something you know that someone wants and is excited about getting. I get excited when someone buys one of my designs or decals; but a lot of the time I don't have much contact with them, so the feeling fades quickly. I don't know how they are going to use the decals, or how the project turned out. With custom orders, I have a lot more contact with the person and feel connected to their DIY project and the feeling doesn't fade.
Many parents give their old IPhones to their kids to use, including me. When the phone still works it makes a great source for educational apps for kids. Or fun games as well. No need to have it connected to a service plan, they just connect with wifi and enjoy. It makes doctor visits less stressful and I don't have to worry about kids playing with my phone and accidentally calling someone I should have deleted off my contacts years ago.
Another idea, if you don't have your own kid who needs one, is to donate the phone to a teacher. I've known teachers in the past that ask for old IPhones, especially in the lower elementary grades for use in their classes. For example, my son's preK teacher had the kids using the phones with a letter writing app in her "writing center". The kids, especially those who may not like to write due to special needs, enjoyed getting to "play" on the phones. Your donation would benefit children in school districts where the funds may not be there to purchase tablets for each class. Since the phone is now in the hands of kids, it's nice to allow them to make the phone theirs. Or before you donate it, make it look more kid friendly. I have created these sports themed decals to do just that. A little decal and the phone looks new again. :) I am a planner, but when it comes to meals I'm more or less a day to day planner. I plan each week enough ideas of what would work with the schedule our family has and my shopping list comes from those ideas. Each day I then evaluate what's going on and what my husband is in the mood for. His input is needed when I want him to grill something; I've been banned from using his grill- you mess up lighting/warming up a gas grill once and you get off the hook from ever doing it again.
My newest creation was made with the daily menu planner in mind. The picture has my kids' favorite menu item- pizza. I don't mind it either- not much cooking required especially when it is take out! This design can be changed up for a weekly menu board that hangs or even for "Today's Specials" at a small dinner. Got an idea and want help bringing it to life? Let me know, I would love to help. I have six kiddos that rule my world. I mean that in every since of the word "rule". They are my alarm clock in the morning and my need for down time before bed. The are my source of frustration and pure joy. My husband and I joke that we are outnumbered and live each day hoping they don't figure that out. We get "I don't know how you do it" A LOT. And some days we don't even know. Caffeine is my crutch most days. In the morning it is tea (never got into the taste of coffee) and in the afternoon it is Dr. Pepper. I'm not a morning person normally and its the only way I function, especially after the nights when one of the kids turns nocturnal. I personally enjoy a cute mug to drink my tea out of (one of my girlie moments) and on a morning after a rough night some inspiration is needed. So... the morning goes like this... Take a drink, read the cup, take a drink, read the cup, take a drink, and sigh and realize- "I got this." Then repeat as needed through out the day. Might need to put this quote on my Dr. Pepper cup for my afternoon caffeine fix. :)
![]() I visited my sister in college at her condo. It is a nice little community, but I had a hard time finding her place. When I finally found her number on the side of the building I was faced with a problem- there where two doors?! There were no numbers on either door, nor any decor that would clue me in on which was hers. I was about to call her when I remembered my brother telling me hers was the one straight ahead. At first I thought he was referring to the building itself as you entered the complex- reason it took so long to find her building; but I realized he had been referring to her door. Well, after that headache I decided to fix it with vinyl! So, my sister received a vinyl decal with her address numbers to apply to her door. No one else would have a problem finding her place. My sister didn't argue and loves the addition to her place. Do you have a hard to find home? Or just want the delivery guy to know they found the right house? Then let me create your address numbers for your home. During Christmas we were trying to think of ideas for teacher gifts. I kept seeing some really good quotes online that I thought if I was still teaching I would put this in my classroom. Light bulb! So, after help from the kiddos to narrow down the choices of quotes we came up with these. It helped that one of the schools' motto for the year is "Don't Forget to be Awesome," so we had to have a few quotes with awesome in there. Using small canvases from Hobby Lobby we applied the vinyl decals. I also bought little paint easels for the teachers to display their canvas quotes. In the end the gifts looked like this. I have started putting these quotes in my Etsy shop. Visit my shop today or send me a message if you would like one of these quotes.
I am forever writing lists. To Do Lists, Don't Forget Lists, Grocery Lists, Packing Lists, Kids' Clothes Lists, and the list goes on. :)
Dry erase boards are nice to use because you aren't using a ton of paper and they keep you from losing that piece of paper you wrote your list on. I like things being my way and when I can't find what I want in a store- I decide to do it myself. Here I bought a coral colored inexpensive dry erase board from Target. It came with magnetic strips on the back and a dry erase marker. Then I added a chevron boarder with the word "Reminders" in mint. The two colors look great together. Place on a fridge and now I can keep up with little daily reminders. This is also a great idea for a classroom too. When I taught I kept a dry erase board outside my classroom. It allowed me to write a note to those who stop by my classroom when I was away. It served as a reminder for my students on homework or supplies they needed for class that day. |
